The Foothills Amateur Radio Society is participating in the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) 2027 Field Day event on Saturday June 26th and Sunday June 27th.
This event is open to the public and visitors are welcome from 11 AM until 9 PM on Saturday, June 26th. Also on Sunday June 27th from 7 AM until 11 AM. Field Day is an opportunity to see Amateur Radio in action and even participate. Learn about ham radio by participating.
We shall have a Get On The Air (GOTA) station where new hams and unlicensed people may operate an amateur radio station.

FARS plans to operate in the 2A category with two primary HF radio stations on emergency power at a temporary location. We are planning for a total of four (total) operating radio stations:

The HF High Band station operates primarily on Single Side Band (SSB) Voice on 10/15/20 meters. |

The GOTA (Get On The Air) station operates HF. The GOTA station is intended to get new/inactive radio operators on the air. This station is meant to allow non-licensed persons a chance experience amateur radio by doing it. |
We welcome visitors from the general public to visit our Amateur Radio Field Day between 11 AM until 9 PM on Saturday, June 26th. Also on Sunday June 27th from 7 AM until 11 AM.
We use WriteLog v12 logging software on all stations. The logging systems are networked together using a wireless LAN based on DD-WRT running on a set of WRT54G WiFi routers.
We are using VHF simplex on 146.550 for on site communications. Please bring your portable radio with you.
We are using the W6ASH repeater (145.270 MHz / 440.800 MHz) for off site communications. The UHF and VHF are linked during field day.
The FARS Field Day site is planned for Los ALtos.
