The Foothills Amateur Radio Society participated in the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) 2026 Field Day event on Saturday June 27th and Sunday June 28th.

The event was open to the public and visitors were welcomed from 11 AM until 9 PM on Saturday, June 27th. Also on Sunday June 28th from 7 AM until 11 AM. Field Day is an opportunity to see Amateur Radio in action and even participate. Learn about ham radio by participating.

We had a Get On The Air (GOTA) station where new hams and unlicensed people operated an amateur radio station.

Participant Information

We used WriteLog v12 logging software on all stations. The logging systems are networked together using a wireless LAN based on DD-WRT running on a set of WRT54G WiFi routers.

We are using VHF simplex on 146.550 for on site communications. Please bring your portable radio with you.

We used the W6ASH repeater (145.270 MHz / 440.800 MHz) for off site communications. The UHF and VHF are linked during field day.
