FARS 222MHz and Up Distance Contest 2022


FARS is participating in 222 MHz and Up Distance Contest on August 6-7, 2022. The objective is to work as many stations as possible on the 222 MHz through 241 GHz bands using any allowable mode. A station in a specific grid locator may be contacted only once per band from the same location, regardless of mode.

We are operating a VHF/UHF radio station under a canopy in the BBQ area at Maryknoll for this contest and using the FARS radio call sign K6YA.

Participation and Visitation is Welcome

Facilities are limited, so bring any food or water you might need. Note that there are no restroom facilities on site. Anyone is welcome to visit, but please keep clear of the residential area. Anyone wishing to participate at this event should make arrangements with our Radio Officer Phil in advance. Contact Phil at sputnik AT pacbell.net. Members may also contact Phil via the roster.

This is a VHF/UHF contest and we supplying basic VHF/UHF equipment for this station. If you like to bring your own equipment to work other bands, you are welcome, but please make arrangements with the radio officer.

Talk-in frequency for this contest is the W6ASH repeater on 440.800 MHz (-) offset PL 100.0Hz.
